British colonization impacted Anglo America quite a lot. In political terms they are very much alike. For example, the way the governments work is particularly similar, except that they have different types of leaders. It is this way since the British colonized America. Latin America was colonized by Spain and was ruled under a communistic government, but eventually changed into a democracy.
Socially, the British and Anglo america speak primarily the same language which is English. Religion is also very similar because most of Americans are protestant which is the same as Britain. In Latin America most people speak Spanish due to the Spaniards. They are also heavily impacted by the Mestizo which is Spanish and native american heritage. In Spain most of the population is Catholic and they take it very seriously and are very religious people. That is why so many people in Latin America follow this religion.
In economical matters Anglo America did a lot of farming and cropping, trading was a big part of the economy and slaves did much labor. As for Latin America they did a lot of plantation work. They also worked/farmed on haciendas which are large plots of land that are owned by the Spanish and Mestizos.
As you can see European colonization really did impact Latin america and Anglo america and shaped them to who they are today.
