Importance of Religion to Culture

I think that religion is important to culture because many rituals and holidays celebrated in most cultures are based off of religion. A culture doesn't necessarily have one religion, it may have many religions in that culture that follow different routines. In some cultures religion is just a belief and in others it is a way of life. From having a certain religion your daily actives may be different from others with different religions. Some cultures take it more seriously then others, and that may just depend on the people or the culture itself. I think that in some cases religion helps keep the culture stable because we all need something to believe in. So to me I believe that religion in a culture is important, but i am pretty religious so that is just my opinion. Others may disagree saying that it doesn't really effect it or that it isn't important. Either way religion does impact a culture very much whether you think it is important or not.

When you look at a culture it can be very hard to look around religion. Religion is something that many are born with, a belief that many people base their lives off of. You can argue about how important religion may be in a culture but you cannot argue much with the fact that it is very much present. When you look at a culture one characteristic that you usually look at is the type of religion that is most prominent. Having something to believe in is what keeps many people moving forward, it gives them hope. Culture is how a group of people live based off of food, clothing, holidays, activities, beliefs (etc). Many of those characteristics have some relation or are based off of religion. Looking at these factors and other factors as well I can conclude that religion in a culture is highly important and valuable.
